The Bible

Christians hold the Bible to be the Word of God, written by human beings under the inspiration of God’s Holy Spirit. In its pages, God reveals His character, His plans, and His purposes. It relates historical accounts of real life men and women who followed—and often failed to follow—God faithfully. It tells us how a God who is loving, merciful, holy, and just, sent His own dear Son to pay the penalty for sin in order to provide the means for forgiveness and reconciliation.

According to Guinness World Records, the Bible is the best-selling book of all time. It has been translated in its entirety into hundreds of languages, with thousands of languages having at least one book of the Bible in their language. More importantly, it’s the primary text of the Christian faith.
