Praying ManPrayer is an amazing thing. As believers saved by grace, we have an incredible privilege to “draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Heb. 4:16) Not only that, but through prayer, God offers us the incredible privilege of being an active part of His plan and purpose. Although He certainly does not need our help, God has chosen to allow our prayers (or lack of them) to make a real difference.

The Word of God and prayer are the daily bread and living water of the believer. Without them the spiritual life becomes sickly and weak. But God’s design for you is “to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man… that we may be filled up to all the fullness of God…” and that through us He might “do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.” (Eph. 3:16,19,20)

How do we come to experience this in our own lives and in our church? By connecting and partnering with God through prayer! John Wesley said, “God does nothing except in response to believing prayer.”
